Virtual Lobby Day

On April 23, 2015, NELA members and Affiliate leaders from around the country will convene in Washington, DC for Lobby Day 2015: Raising Our Voices For Change. If you are unable to join us in DC, you can still raise your voice for change by calling the Capitol Hill switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to speak with your Senators and Representative on April 23.

Call your Senators and Representative and ask to speak to their legislative counsel who handles tax and/or judiciary issues. Talk with them about issues that are of great importance to you and your clients, and the fair administration of justice: promoting tax fairness for workers in employment and civil rights cases, opposing forced arbitration of employment disputes, and advocating for an independent federal judiciary that reflects the rich experiential diversity of the legal community. If they are not available, leave a message for them and ask for a return call. To find your federal legislators' phone numbers, staff contacts, and lists of bills they have sponsored (including past versions of the AFA and the CJTFA), visit NELA's Grassroots Advocacy Center.

Please contact Laura M. Flegel, NELA’s Legislative & Public Policy Director, at lflegel@nelahq.org or (202) 898-2880, ext. 115, if you have any questions about Virtual Lobby Day or NELA's legislative efforts.
