My practice is presently concentrated in employment law and commercial litigation including wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, non-compete agreements, and trade secret matters.
I was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1967 and in 2001, I founded the firm Laurie & Laurie, P.A. I am one of a few attorneys in Minnesota that is dually certified as both a Civil Trial Specialist and a Labor & Employment Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. In 44 years of law practice, I have had cases in many areas of the law.
I have extensive civil trial experience trying many complex and commercial cases and obtaining substantial jury verdicts including $3,250,000 in a patent and trademark case, $1,200,000 in an employment law case, a $1,000,000 arbitration award in a business split up, $750,000 in a sexual harassment case and other substantial verdicts for emotional distress and psychological injuries.
A licensed mediator on the Minnesota Statewide ADR Neutrals Roster (Rule 114), I have also mediated many cases and was selected as a Leading American Attorney in Alternative Dispute Resolution for employment law, commercial litigation, and personal injury. I have also authored numerous legal articles and lectured widely on the topics of trade secret litigation, legal malpractice, sexual harassment, non-compete agreements and whistleblowing.
