Boston area law students and recent graduates who are studying for the bar examination are invited to participate in the National Employment Lawyers Association’s (NELA’s) 2014 Annual Convention, Blazing The Trail: Courage | Challenge | Change, for an afternoon of learning, networking, and tips for success as developing employee rights attorneys.

$10 Current law student at Boston College, Boston University, or Northeastern University (Sponsoring Law Schools)
$45 Other law students (Non-sponsoring Law Schools)
$45 Recent law graduates currently studying for a bar examination

Registration includes:

  • Career panel presentation;
  • Attendance at one Thursday afternoon Concurrent Session;
  • Attendance at NELA’s 2014 Annual Reception;
  • A copy of the 2014 Annual Convention Program Guide; and
  • A copy of the 2014 Annual Convention Manual on CD-ROM.

Law students can submit a registration form via email to Karen Maoki at until Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Registration fees can be made on-site at the “Insider’s View” registration table in front of the Burroughs Room before the law student career panel begins.

Walk-In Registration
Walk-ins are welcome. Copies of the 2014 Annual Convention Manual on CD-ROM and Program Guide may be available only on a limited basis to walk-in registrants.

    An Insider’s View: Tips For Success As New Employee Advocates

    Law students are invited to join NELA and The Employee Rights Advocacy Institute For Law & Policy (The Institute) for an engaging and interactive discussion on a career in plaintiffs’ employment law. Experienced employment law practitioners will answer questions on how to enter the plaintiffs’ employment law field and tips on identifying and securing job opportunities in this ever-changing area of the law. The panel will discuss what skills and experience can help law students be successful employee advocates as they begin their legal careers. NELA and The Institute encourage Convention attendees to participate in this program as part of our continued commitment to developing the next generation of employee advocates.

    3:45–5:00 p.m.

    Concurrent Session – Registrants may attend any of the six sessions during this time period.
