Bert S. Braud is a Partner/Shareholder with The Popham Law Firm, where he has practiced since graduating from the University of Kansas School of Law, in 1984. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1981. For the past 15 years, he has practiced almost exclusively in the area of employment discrimination. He was lead counsel on Thiessen v. GECC, 267 F.3d 1095 (10th Cir. 2001), which established important precedent for the prosecution of collective actions for age discrimination under the FLSA and ADEA. He was co-counsel in Williams v. Sprint, an age discrimination collective action that resulted in a $54 million settlement, and has also worked on numerous race and gender discrimination class actions. He has an active trial practice, and has tried almost 50 cases to a jury verdict. He is a “Super Lawyer” in Kansas and Missouri, and practices in both states from his office in Kansas City, MO. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and currently serves as President of the Kansas City affiliate of NELA
