Symposium: Enhancing Anti-Discrimination Laws In Employment & Education

When:  Nov 12, 2021 from 09:00 AM to 04:30 PM (ET)

The Institute is excited to partner with the American University Washington College of the Law Journal of Gender, Social Policy & Law for the upcoming virtual symposium “Enhancing Anti-Discrimination Laws In Employment & Education.”

The symposium’s central question will focus on: What changes are needed in the law to increase equity and diversity in our workplaces and educational institutions?

Leading legal thinkers will explore the key changes necessary for the law to be more responsive to those facing historical and structural subordination, current implicit biases, and other forms of oppression, both blatant and nuanced. These forces are obstacles to true equity. Despite decades of effort, anti-discrimination law as it currently functions does not serve the best interests of workers and students.

Topics include:

  • Harassment in the Workplace
  • Title IX & Harassment in Education
  • Government Approaches
  • The Future of Employment Law

There is no cost to attend this virtual event. Approval of continuing legal education credits are pending in CA, GA, IL, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, and VA.
