A Regular UELA Member Certifies:

  • They are an attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Utah;
  • At least 50% of their professional time is devoted to representing or advancing the rights of employees and/or union members;
  • They do not have more than one (1) case on file in any judicial or administrative forum on behalf of an employer;
  • No more than 25% of their professional time is devoted to non-employment civil defense work;
  • They are not employed or about to become employed by any law firm that primarily does defense work;
  • They do not belong to or receive appointments from any defense panel; and
  • They do not belong to any organization whose members primarily defend employers against claims of employees. Bipartisan organizations such as the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California are not barred from membership.

Law Student Members

Law students who subscribe to the purpose of the organization may join as student members.

Lunch and one hour of CLE with UELA every month for nothing other than your annual dues. UELA gives you practical training from the employee advocate’s point of view.

Online Listserve

Our online discussion forum for UELA members. On the UELA List, you can ask other UELA members for practical advice about your cases, share information about opposing counsel, judges, and mediators, and be a part of the community of Utah employee advocates.
