Kirby Fernando Cañon is the founding member of the Canon Law Firm, P.C. He focuses his practice on fighting for workers experiencing workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful terminations. Mr. Cañon represents his clients against large, private, and public employers in both state and federal courts, and arbitration. Mr. Cañon is a board member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (“CELA”). He is also a member of the National Employers Lawyers Association (“NELA”). In CELA, he has co-chaired several committees, including the Immigrant Employee Rights and Arbitration committees. Mr. Cañon is bilingual in English and Spanish. He attended UCLA after earning a full academic scholarship and holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Development Studies. He graduated with a J.D. from the University of California, Law San Francisco with Outstanding Achievement for his Pro Bono work. He also clerked for the Honorable Maria Elena James, Chief Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Northern District of California. He is the proud son of a dedicated single-mother and was born in the beautiful island of San Andres in Colombia. In his spare time, he is an avid soccer fan who enjoys cooking traditional dishes from around the world and keeping up with current events.
