Thank you for participating in Lobby Day 2018. It has never been more important for us to stand together to insist that our elected representatives be held accountable to protect the working people of America and ensure that their workplaces are safe, fair, and free of harassment and discrimination. Nothing is more effective in persuading Congress than personal visits from constituents and community leaders who can explain how an issue affects their district, their state, and the nation.

The issues we will lobby on include:

  • Forced Arbitration in the Workplace: The urgency of passing legislation to end forced arbitration of workplace disputes. Specifically, we will lobby on gaining passage of the Arbitration Fairness Act (S. 2591/H.R. 1374). We will also address NELA’s perspective on the strengths and necessary expansion of a new bill, Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Harassment (S. 2203/H.R. 4734).
  • Judicial Nominations (Senate Only): The importance of ensuring that the Senate confirm qualified, independent, and fair-minded lawyers to serve on the federal judiciary. We will lobby our senators so that they know that judges and courts matter to their constituents, and insist that they fight to protect Senate Judiciary Committee processes and traditions to ensure confirmations of nominees who meet these important criteria.
Check back on this site often. We will continue to add resources and provide updates on Lobby Day 2018.
